Today at Wal-Mart my little 5 year old decided to scare me a little...
Gabe, Tara and I were at Wal-Mart when near the end of our shopping he told me he needing to go to the bathroom. I asked him if he could wait until after we check out b/c there was a bathroom up by the registers. He said yes. So I finish my shopping and pull into one of the lanes and start unloading my cart of food. Tara is playing in the cart seat and I see Gaber down by the bags. So I turn my head for no more than a minute to finish putting the rest of our stuff up when I turn around and notice Gaber is no longer standing there. I thought maybe he went to the next isle over to look at candy, nope, so I look down our isle once more, no Gaber. My heart started to pound. I look all over the front of Wal-Mart and start yelling his name. I ask the cashier if she could watch my stuff and Tara and she said of course and that she could sound the alert and shut down the doors. I remember that he needed to go potty so I run down to the bathrooms, which were quite a distance down, and yell into the men's bathroom to hear a reply from my boy! What A Relief. I tell him to hurry it up as a man comes out and says he is fine and that no one else is in there. I think, well you were in there...but I will not worry since Gaber sounds fine. Gaber comes out and I scolded him for leaving me like that, he knew better. He told me he thought he could since I had said he could go potty at the check out. I was just so happy that he was ok and so I just had a talk with him, again, about why he needs to stay with his mommy.
That is SOOO scary!!! Praise the Lord that everything turned out fine!
